CORPORATE

VOLUNTEERING

www VOLUNTEER High.jpg

Corporate Volunteering is becoming more and more known and used by private businesses to benefit their own staff and therefore their own profits.  How can you benefit:

  • Send individual staff for a personal break from their desk and pressures

  • Send an existing team to bond whilst doing something worthwhile

  • Send a new team to learn about each other whilst helping others

  • Challenge your team to a sponsored adventure, like the Yorkshire Three Peaks

Below are some ideas that we have put together to allow us to work closer with local and regional companies, to help us achieve our charitable aims of reducing loneliness and isolation:

MAINTENANCE TEAM

If you are a senisible cook, and can work in a small team, then you could join our 5star Food Hygiene rated catering team.

We provide a two course meal for 10 to 20 people in basic and commercial kitchens, in a team of between two and four people, under supervision of a Food Safety qualified cook.

Expect chopping, slicing, peeling, boiling, grating, baking, serving and of course to sit down and enjoying your own hard work and seeing what a difference it makes to others.

Training:

No qualifications required, however, we can supply training at cost price for a team, up to 12 people, if a relay cook-team want to help. Course is 6 hrs.

If you enjoy working with people and especially running or being part of a team who run activities for groups, then we could have a role for caring teams.

Living with Dementia is frustrating, and our groups try to bring happiness into peoples lives through appropriate mental and physical games, usually bringing laughter and smiles to our members faces.

You may be involved in skittles, Rummikub, Cards, Craft, Baking, Singing, or even on a trip out.  This is a hard but very rewarding experience.

Once a month, we take our members out in to the community to see the world, to places including Canon Hall Farm, Tropical World, Mining Museum, and Meadowhall Shopping Centre.
