The Denby Dale Centre has a transport VISION for #kirklees, including a council area wide volunteer car service. A volunteer car service is quite simply where a group of volunteers who are willing to help individual people with transport, offer their car and their time to help local people. The passenger pays the volunteers expenses.
Thumbs Up for a Lift is a @KirkleesCouncil funded project to pilot a new rural volunteer car service (VCS) for Colne Valley, Holme Valley and HD8.
By the end of 2018, the new service has around 20 drivers all helping others on a regular basis.
The service works alongside similar VCS schemes who offer a limited coverage, however Thumbs Up For A Lift is quite willing to share the combined strength of all services.
